Encryption:

When using the default settings, SnippetCenter stores its data unencrypted to the database. So it is possible to see the data using a text editor. To avoid this, the database can be encrypted.

Use Encryption:

(De-)Activating this option (de-)activates encryption for the database (when applying the change).

Use password:

If encryption is active you can define here a password that is asked on start of SnippetCenter and used for encryption.

Save password:

Use this option to avoid the password question on startup.

Notes:

When using the encryption access to the database is slowed down!
important note: when using encryption then for PDF snippets follows: the snippet itself is stored encrypted on the database but the associated PDF file is stored unencrypted outside the database.
